Autumn has arrived

We have had some beautiful rain and the Adelaide Hills are greener than they have been for many years at this time of the year. AND after 2 years of drought it is SO refreshing to see GORGEOUS autumnal leaves and green paddocks.

I must get the camera and take more photos to post here. I am retraining myself to not procrastinate, (BUT I am not succeeding very well at the moment though!!)
I have been busy making cards and having a fab time trying new techniques and using my new stamps.
I am REALLY enjoying the haven of the Scrap Inn, it is so nice and peaceful in that building and I am SO privileged to have it here - SO want to share it with others too!!

I will have photos real soon,
Til then have a great day,

What a fabulous day!

Steph, Lisa, Kathie, Bel, Mel and Janine came today and WOW what a group of lovely and talented girls to be able to share the day with. Thanks girls for sharing your company and creativity with me today - it was awesome .

Everyone brought so much food and, along with the Lobethal bakery goodies, we had a feast; as well as heaps of fun.
The children were so good together under the watchful eye of my nephew , Sam. Climbing trees, making cubby houses, and walking around the farm. Some of the children even got to see my nephew Mark's little orphaned lamb that he is bottle feeding.
AND the weather was perfect (thank you Lord). As close to a perfect day as I could have imagined.

There are plans for another get together in 3 weeks time, maybe there might be a bit more scrapping next time!!!!

Thanks again girls , I am really looking forward to the next time

I am very inspired and am rearing to try some new things out real soon.

Bye til next time,

Tomorrow isnt so far away now!!!

VERY busy day fun today. I was off to Wild Nutmeg for the Stamping Club where I shared how to do napkin and Modpodged cards. OHHHH I love those napkins and by the way Wild Nutmeg has SO many and at the moment they are 50% off - I just had to get just a few more today!!!

I have been SO excited about tomorrow's BB Adelaide girls get together.

I now have 5 beautiful new Ikea tables all set up and ready to scrap on.
HOW AWESOME the Scrap Inn is really starting to take shape.
DH and the kids picked up the tables and helped put them together tonight and I tidied up the scrap room so it is neat and tidy and ready to go.

I am SO blessed out of my socks that things are beginning to unfold , and the new chapter of my life's journey is proving to be something VERY good.

Anyways, I am REALLY looking forward to meeting some new friends tomorrow and I am sure that I will be blown away by their awesome creativity and inspired to stretch myself to try even more exciting things.

2 more sleeps!!

Wednesday BB Adelaide girls get-together is nearly here. I trust that nothing prevents, any of you BB girls who wants to come, from making it here. It will be a 10.30 start and you are all welcome to stay as long as you want to (sorry I am not offering a sleep-over and all-night scrapping though!!!!! well not yet anyway).

I am hoping that my new Ikea tables will be up and ready to use by Wednesday.

Above is another card that I made recently. I used both positive and negative masking with punched out flowers , then used my favourite florish stamp AGAIN!!!
I am trying to stretch myself out of my comfort zone and use colours other than purple and pink - WOW is that ever a challenge for me!!!!.
I love how butterfly wings with vintage image girls create little angels.
Oh and the crown is grungeboard with foil paper just to add a bit of bling (thank you Lisa for putting me onto that foil paper - it is awesome to use).

Bye for now

Here I used SU ink to sponge ink the background and SU stamps very lightly so that the gorgeous image would stand out. Kindy glitz gives her wings sparkle and the big flower has an old button holding it onto the card
Add ImageI had SO much fun playing with this image too, and how about that fab BG paper.
I would LOVE to find more of that lily-of-the-valley vintage lace though, it is so dainty and I have now used all of it!!.

As you can see, my florish stamps get used ALL the time!!!
LOVE 'em and I have just bought more so I will have a greater variety to use. I will post a couple of cards soon that I have done with my new SU florish stamps from the newly released catalogue.

The Latest on the SCRAP INN

Thank the Lord there have been green lights so far from the local council. It is getting VERY exciting and I have been lead to remain positive and keep on planning. I have So many ideas.

I am REALLY looking forward to being able to share the wonderful place where I live and give women a chance to truly relax and be themselves , unhindered, for a weekend of pampering.

This is what I am planning
  • New tables from Ikea (one table each , so there will be ample room to spread out) along with swivel office chairs for optimum comfort.
  • Good lighting is paramount - I am planning to have daylight globes-
  • a big workbench with tools that will be available for use during your stay
  • Sizzix machine and dies , embossing folders and
  • Cricut machine with several different cartridges. And I hope to have a sewing machine to stitch paper in there too.
I'll supply these things so you wont have to bring or carry so many heavy things.

Nice smelly organic soap products will be there also, a good friend has her own business selling these yummy 'Just Because' products.
Who would be interested in a nice massage ????? I am considering looking into inviting a local masseur, I trust that she may be able to work on weekends and travel out to the Scrap Inn. What do you think??? Would that be something that you may enjoy on your visit???
I would love to hear any comments to help me plan better.

Well, then there is the food ......... more on that at a later date , I need to know what people want.
Any ideas will be gratefully considered. I really want to be able to give you a weekend of total relaxation and all at an affordable cost.

Soon I will get some pics to post here of what this little retreat looks like at the moment. They will be 'before' photos because there is a bit of work to be done yet to 'pretty' the place up more.

Anyways
Remember to take time to enjoy life,

Glimmer mist cards

Today I thought I would share some of my artwork with you all.
I have used glimmer mist on these WOWSER is that fun to use. These are all occasion cards and YES my favourite colours are pink/purple ( how did you guess!!!)
I am really loving using those vintage images as well and am always on the lookout for pieces of old lace and trimmings to add for the finishing touches.

I had a friend visit today and I helped her work on an album she is making for a present, it is REALLY great to be able to share my passion for papercraft and get to know people better in the process.

See you next time

This blogging is such fun I thought I would post twice today!!!

I love playing with napkins and Mod-podge. My collection of gorgeous napkins is growing all the time! There are some stunning designs and lots of shabby chic style ones too!! YUMMO

Ok there must be a trick to this that I havent worked out yet. I wanted these pics to be in amongst the text!!! I will have to keep trying

Hugs til next time , Debs
Wont be long now and I will have tha hang of this whole blogging idea and I will be starting to post some pics. Yeah, pics of where I live (thank you LisaV) and pics of some of my artistic creations.

I thought that I would share another special part of my journey with you today.
Scrapping and artsy crafting have been awesome therapy helping me to gain more confidence in who I am. And my AWESOME girlfriends who love me unconditionally (some have seen me in the worst place possible!!!!!! and yet continues to love and support me and believe in me - WOW I am eternally grateful for all of you. THANK YOU).

Another vital part of my journey has been visiting this site www.blueletterbible.org/daybyday
WOW has that given me a different outlook to my faith and what I have believed ALL my life. It has been totally awesome seeing things in a clearer light - I am being released from guilt compelled behaviour and becoming free to relax and just be - spose it was the right time to finally learn the truth!!!!!!!!!

NEXT WEDNESDAY- BB Adelaide girls get together

Anyways, I had a cleaning frenzy yesterday to prepare the Scrap Inn for my influx of visitors next WEDNESDAY 23.
(insert VERY EXCITED emoticon !)

I have a large room that the younger ones can use as a play room (could everyone please bring a few toys for the children to share . Mine are all grown up and I have minimal toys left!)
I also have another smaller room that the babies can sleep in when they need to ( It might be best if you could bring a small portable bed with you. Sorry I am not really geared up in that department now either!)

AND the scrapping room - well I will get to that soon and clear off the tables again (insert embarrassed emoticon!) I have stuff everywhere AGAIN covering all the tables!!!!! HEY I love to spread out when I work and the more space I have the more I use!!!!!

Is everyone bringing some of their work to share????
Who wants to scrap????? or are we just chatting??????

(insert another VERY EXCITED emoticon)

Well I must be off to check out how to upload more pics (oops I mean do the housework!!!!! wink)
Til next time,

My new journey begins.......

WOW!! here I go trying something so foreign to me .....

I have been such a shy person and now here I am venturing out -
a journey of discovery about myself through the big world of arty craft in blogland.

Taking the first step was the hardest - it always is!!!

Only recently, I have been meeting some awesome people along the rocky road that I am travelling along at the moment. I have been encouraged to move through my distressing time and move out of my sheltered comfort zone and try new things. New friends, new opportunities it is just so exciting how a whole new world is opening up.

I visit Blue Bazaar and just love the caring people who visit there. It was through BB that Lisa and Steph came to visit. OHHHH that has been awesome soaking up some of their creativity and being inspired heaps by their gorgeous work. Just LOVE what you do girls , you both have such unique styles and my long lost mojo has returned. YAY.............. thank you so much girls.

The thread that we have been using on BB was getting rather long and Lisa suggested that it may just be time for me to start a blog!!! So here I am!!!!

We are having another scrapping day on April 23 and it looks like more BB Adelaide girls will be joining us. YIPPEE.
It is school holidays so the girls' children will be having an outing into the countryside too. It should be LOTS of fun.. I am SO looking forward to meeting all you other BB girls.

Before you all get here I will visit the reknown Lobethal Bakery bright and early, and stock up on their YUMMY pretzel rolls and buns for lunch. I am also REALLY hoping that everyone will bring their albums to show and tell. Such awesome creative people live in, and around Adelaide and I have seen some of their work in the mags and been SOOOO inspired over the years. I have been SO inspired by you girls and, did I say, I cant wait to meet you all.

( I am SO missing not having those cute little BB emoticons to play with !!!!!!! lol)

Another part of my journey is that I believe that I am being lead to establish a B&B called the Scrap Inn. Anyways I will talk about that at a later post.

Hugs til next time.

p.s. Oh did I say that I was excited about the BB girls visit!!!!
